Cracks in the Bedrock: Christian Colleges’ Role in Repairing Civic Virtue

The deepening crisis of civic virtue in American public life stems not merely from polarization or social media, but from eroding moral and institutional foundations that Christian colleges and other faith-based institutions historically helped sustain by forming citizens in habits of virtue and communal purpose. We call on Christian colleges to remain faithful to their theological commitments and resist secularizing pressures so they can continue to provide moral formation essential to a healthy liberal democracy.
